Blue Smooth Aster is a dainty but hardy perennial flower persisting through the grips of frost as the seasons change. The yellow center of this flower turns a reddish hue as the weather turns colder. It can commonly be found in ditches throughout the prairies. It's leaves are smooth to the touch as it's name suggests. Since this flower blooms past the first frosts of the season it is a great flower for pollinators to get the last nectar of the season!
